Oil analysis finds problems on the ground and not in the air. Fixing a small problem can save many dollars before they become failures. Silicon (dirt) can indicate an air induction leak which could cause excessive engine wear. Each report has an interpretation of the results and we encourage customers that may have a question about anything on the report to call and speak to one of our experienced analyst.

Lab One Aviation not only caters to the general aviation population, we also have many helicopter operators, commuter airlines and major airlines that use our services. With the exception of tests that may take more than 24 hours, all samples that are received are processed in 24 hours or less and the results emailed and also put on line which a customer can access 24/7 with their customer number and password.

Tests Available:

  • Basic Oil Test (BOT*) test of wear metals
  • For customers that need more extensive testing for turbines we can add additional test such as Viscosity, Particle count, Chlorine and almost any other test that comes to mind.

 

Specialty Equipment used for Industry

 

  • Emission Spectrometer programmable for either reciprocating or turbine engines
  • ICP spectrometer for specialty elements.
  • Viscometer for calculating the oil viscosity
  • Particle counter to determine cleanliness and NAS Class
